Where Strength Meets Serenity, and You Learn to Fly
Our Story
Soul Tribe Studios officially opened its doors on 6 June 2026. But the story began years before that.
Back in 2020, while the world was navigating uncertainty during the COVID pandemic, one of our founders, Janice experienced a profound personal loss with the passing of her husband, Steve.
At the same time, our co-founder Laure was navigating her own challenges as a divorced single mother, entrepreneur, and wellness professional dedicated to helping others while rebuilding her own life.
Both women understood what it meant to experience grief, loss, uncertainty, resilience, and the courage required to begin again. What emerged from those experiences was a shared vision.
What if there was a place where people could find strength without judgement? A place where movement wasn't punishment? A place where healing wasn't about fixing yourself, but rediscovering yourself? A place where people could build strong bodies, calm minds, and open hearts?
That vision became Soul Tribe Studios. A community built on the belief that beautiful things can grow from life's most difficult seasons.
Through pain, we created something beautiful. And today, every class, workshop, retreat, and conversation carries that vision forward.
Soul Tribe Studios was born from a simple belief:
-
People don't heal in isolation.
-
They heal when they feel safe.
-
They heal when they feel seen.
-
They heal when they feel supported.
-
And they heal in community.
We created Soul Tribe Studios to be more than a movement studio. More than a wellness space and more than a collection of classes. We created it to be a place where people could come home to themselves. A place where strength and softness can coexist, where movement becomes medicine, where healing happens from the inside out and a place where community reminds you that you never have to walk your journey alone.
Our Philosophy
Strong Body. Calm Mind. Open Heart.
These aren't just words on our wall.
They're the foundation of everything we do.
Strong Body
We believe movement should help people feel capable, confident, resilient, and connected to their bodies. Strength isn't about looking a certain way. It's about trusting yourself.
Calm Mind
Modern life places enormous demands on our nervous systems. Through movement, breathwork, wellness practices, mindfulness, and community, we help people create greater balance, resilience, and inner calm.
Open Heart
Perhaps the most important part of all. An open heart means having the courage to be seen. To connect. To trust. To belong. To show up fully as yourself. Because healing isn't simply physical. It's emotional, relational, and deeply human.
Meet our Founders
Laure Kirsten-Otto
Co-Founder | Aerial Yoga & Aerial Flow Instructor | Breathwork Practitioner | Meditation Teacher | Wellness Practitioner
Laure believes that movement has the power to transform lives—not because it changes how we look, but because it changes how we feel about ourselves.
With a background in psychology, behavioural science, coaching, and corporate wellness, Laure has spent her career helping people navigate stress, burnout, trauma, life transitions, and personal growth.
Her own journey led her to discover aerial hammock, where she found not only physical strength, but also confidence, joy, and a place where she finally allowed herself to be fully seen.
Today, Laure combines aerial movement, breathwork, meditation, and nervous system regulation to create experiences that help people reconnect with themselves from the inside out.
Her classes are welcoming, uplifting, and empowering, encouraging every person to move at their own pace while discovering just how capable they truly are.
"My greatest hope is that every person who walks through our doors leaves feeling stronger, calmer, more connected, and a little more like themselves."
Janice Quinn
Co-Founder
Every dream needs someone who believes in it enough to help bring it to life.
Janice's journey to Soul Tribe Studios has been shaped by both profound love and profound loss.
Following the passing of her beloved husband, Steve—a man whose generosity, kindness, and unwavering belief in others touched so many lives—Janice faced the difficult path of rebuilding life after heartbreak.
Rather than allowing grief to define her future, she chose to honour Steve's legacy by investing in something that would bring hope, healing, and connection to others. It was through this extraordinary act of generosity that the seed funding for Soul Tribe Studios became possible.
Janice's belief in the Soul Tribe vision, together with her unwavering encouragement and support, helped transform a dream into a thriving community. Her resilience, compassion, and understanding of both loss and renewal are woven into the very heart of the studio.
Together with Laure, Janice shares a vision of creating more than a movement and wellness studio. They wanted to create a place where people could feel seen, supported, and accepted—a place where healing happens through movement, community, and genuine human connection.
Soul Tribe stands as a reminder that even life's most difficult seasons can give rise to something beautiful.
"Sometimes the greatest legacy we can leave is creating opportunities for others to heal, grow, and rediscover hope."
